CLASS
Ageing to Sage-ing®
-Stage 1-

The Sage-ing® journey empowers us to discover the special sacredness of our life cycle.

This program is based on the Spiritual Eldering work, building on the teachings of Reb Zalman, z"l and his book, From Age-ing to Sage-ing®, and it offers powerful contemplative tools for giving expression to the wisdom of our ripening lives. It is non-denominational, and we invite all participants to connect Age-ing to spiritual life.

Fifteen years ago Reb Zalman z'l wrote, “Elderhood is a time of unparalleled inner growth having evolutionary significance in this era of world-wide cultural transformation. It is a call from the future, a journey for the health and survival of our ailing planet earth.” How much more so now!

The Sage-ing program® has begun in our community with the format of a consciousness raising group. The first class of twelve participants completed the program in the summer of 2008, many more classes followed. If you are interested in joining a class or inviting our team of Sage-ing® Mentors, R' Ori Har DiGennaro & Rosemary Lohndorf, to your community, email or call us.

Older adults learn to shift into the role of an Elder with a new vision of growing older, a shifting that empowers the Elder to feel --
• I am turning life experience into wisdom

• I learn to harvest my life experience and to reframe it knowing that I cannot change the past but I can look at it from another perspective

• I complete and heal any unfinished issues in my life, thus enriching the present

• I work on removing the psycho-spiritual obstacles from the issue of Death and Dying; and I face my mortality

• I can develop a regenerative spirit
This inter-spiritual class entwines journal writing exercises, text study, interactive and individual meditations, and group sharing; appropriate for all who want to gain deep meaning in the aging process, people of all ages, professionals working with elders, and clergy for those they serve.

RETREAT
Death as Part of Life
-Stage 2-

This intensive program focuses on facing our mortality with honesty, vulnerability and integrity. We will learn how to expand our comfort levels in dealing with dying, death, after life and bereavement and through this work bring new meaning into our lives.

Conscious Learning Community invites you to join us for a life affirming, thought provoking and transformative retreat. Lead by Ori Har DiGennaro & Rosemary Lohndorf.

Our experience will include readings, journaling, embodied meditation and discussion. Each of us will have time to write our own obituary, vidui or “deathbed confession,” and spiritual or ethical will. We will also work with end-of-life medical wishes. We will take home with us the tools to update and expand these writings as life continues to unfold. While learning transformative practices based in Jewish wisdom, we will also draw on other traditions.

"When we recognize that life is finite we are challenged to live each moment fully."
(A.J. Heschel)

"My experience with Death as Part of Life was a deeply rich and rewarding gift for my soul. The workshop content was touchingly poignant helping me to explore death in a way that was both heartrending and beautifully joyful. My view of death and dying has expanded and my relationship with death as part of life is more real and healthy. Rosemary and Ori are both knowledgeable and kind guides for work of this depth."-- Laura Lyon

"I don't have enough words to describe my amazing experience. I know that no one wants to die, but death is the destination we all share. No one yet escaped death, but guidelines and deep teachings helped me to realize that death is a Change Agent. The seminar Death as Part of Life helped me to be ready. It prepared me and my family to accept, forgive, and cherish every moment that we are together. Indeed, death is part of life." --Esther Sadeh

"The few days in the workshop, helped me to develop a better understanding of the dying process - physically, emotionally and spiritually.
I had an incredible "awakening" that the dying person, whether in the active dying process or as a healthy elder, as I feel I am, has the absolute right to express her wishes and to have them honored. Somehow, facing this, has led me to feeling more relaxed about my own dying.
I am most grateful to have had the opportunity to take a "time out" and contemplate this vital subject- living and dying in the "evening of my life".--Dr. Norman Enteen

NOTE:
Stage 1 & 2
can be done in any order.

INHABIT YOUR SAGE
Journey of Transfor-mational Painting
through the Four Worlds

Transformational Painting is an embodied meditation practice, a process that helps us to become present to our creativity.
Kabbalah means receiving. We will tap into the divine flow of light, color, and aspiration to nourish our being in four dimensions. You will:
  • Connect to your essence and celebrate your wholeness.
  • Awaken to your intuitive wisdom and your creative powers.
  • Open your heart to an inter-spiritual exploration.
  • Give voice and color to your Inner Elder stirrings.
  • Become more embodied and present.
Through meditation, journal work, spiritual intimacy, embodied awareness, and connection with brushes and paint, our own creative river will awaken and nourish the blossoming of our self-expression.
All levels of experience welcome.
